The problem with the size of the QB64PE executables (20 times bigger than Free Basic's) is the clutter on the developement disk.
If the exe size can't be reduced, I suggest to add an option to build an executable that uses an external runtime lib. This would reduce the size of the code and would still allow to build in a single file if preferred. QB45 had both options.
