The recent additions to the queue columns got me thinking that it would be good to have an estimated size of the encode in the queue columns so if the final file is too big adjustments could be made before encoding

That's not really feasible right now. With quality targeting (which is recommended and default) you can have the size vary based on how much complexity there is in different parts of the video. On top of that, the size of the file isn't going to match up to the actual encode progress, as some data may not be flushed to disk. So any estimates are going to be chronically wrong, especially with things like low-complexity credits at the end.
