I would always use Constant Quality; it will do the best job in most situations. Just do a few test encodes and see what picture quality/file size tradeoff works for you. It doesn't really matter what the original bitrate is, you're just trying to stop further picture degradation. |

Because my NAS doesn't support H265, I need to encode to H264. As the H265 has already been encoded\compressed, I guess encoding it to H264 leads to more loss of quality.
So do I stick with a Constant Quality setting? Currently mine is set to 20 RF.
