Just a discussion to keep track of the current state of dev builds & to collect feedback, basically open for everything related to dev builds.

Next Release 0.8 (planned deadline: 28.11.2025 12.12.2025)

Current dev builds have the following known issue (will be kept up to date for clarity):

• Symbol for Bootil::File::ChangeMonitor::HasChanges might be shit?
  Noticed while testing that the detour is failing

The following issue was now recently fixed on dev builds:

• holylib_networking_fasttransmit (networking module - enabled by default) causes viewmodels to duplicate clientside when in a PVS with multiple players

The following issue should now be fixed on dev builds:

• HolyLib's userdata setup causes, in one specific case the Lua GC to crash as soon as a few HolyLib userdata objects are pushed.
  NOTE: Since userdata is part of the core it cannot be disabled.
  ToDo: Look into referenced userdata and check if possibly the GC is clearing them, possibly causing subtle memory corruption?

The next prerelease build 0.8-pre2 is planned to be released on the 12.11.2025 along with the gmod update as one of the changes depends on a fix included in the update.

Potential existing issue:

• Networking may be screwing up causing some entities to not be networked at all randomly. This one was only reported by @RumBugen
  If anyone else is experiences this, please leave a note though currently it seems like its yet again a server specific issue somehow.
