Manual "WiFi repeater mode" - No internet on wlan0 / AP

Using RaspAP 3.3.0 ARM64 on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. I have internet on wlan1 and can ping adresses via SSH, but the AP clients on wlan0 can not access the internet. I have read the WiFi repeater docs, and my network settings look like they supposedly should, I 've read issues and discussions and tried a few things, but still no cigar.

My issue is exactly the same. I second your routing table and wlan outputs. Tried it on version 3.2.2. Via SSH I can also ping / wget etc. but no client on the AP can get as much as a ping on anything but the gateway 10.3.141.1. Tried switching to another power supply of the Pi, used another SD card, used Balena Etcher instead of RPI imager to rule out far fetched reasons but it's always the same.

@degudejung this thread is largely a duplicate of #1807. In the vast (and I mean vast) majority of these cases, a faulty or otherwise inappropriate external adapter (ie., "dongle") is the source of the problem.

thanks @billz for the swift reply. I thought I had that sorted out with the quite popular Alfa AWUS036ACM with Mediatek MT7612U Chip. It had been very well supported with kernel integration for quite a long time but some research today shows that apparently many distros have issues with it with newer kernels. I'm trying to move away from OpenWRT because I have to much trouble lately - maybe it's not OpenWRT but, in fact, the dongle...
