bug: Copying a block from the toolbox is not currently feasible

Description

Currently you cannot copy a block from the flyout and then paste it in the workspace. This is in part due to now falling back to the core implementation of copy/paste which doesn't work correctly if you try to copy in the flyout.

Similar to #546 which points out that the context menu is also affected and the result is a difference between keyboard and mouse users.

#550 fixes 546 but there are more complex issues with cut/copy/paste that need to be worked through to make them work properly.
