Description
While the app is great and rich, the current interface is rather confusing, full of parameters with unclear connection to the output
So a few suggestions on improvements:
- in general, add a lot of the condensed docs to the tooltip of each parameter, including the formulas
- since you recommend "Synchronous" as the best option, it should be at the top of the list named
Synchronous (best)so that users wouldn't start with the best easier. And then it should have a tooltip
We perceive differences in sensitivity and hand speed by proportion (i.e. logarithmically), and also that we have some anchor speed we use for estimating changes. This curve syncs with our natural estimating by making a logarithmically symmetrical sensitivity change around the central speed.
- Add notation/formulas everywhere, including the charts, for example, "Motivity" is an unclear term requiring reading the docs, but if you add a second line
Motivity (π)
(defines the full range of π£β/π£α΅’ change: from 1/π to π)
And then if you set motivity to 1.9 the chart would have
π=1.9as a label on the very last point in the chart and1/m=0.52as a label on the very first point in the chart
And then the tooltip on motivity would be a fuller description of what it is.
This way if you try to edit the parameters, you don't need to look up in the docs because you forgot what it means, instead of already have a lot of info to understand it and connect the input with the output. If you change 1.9 to 2.5 you can see that it affected the vertical/horizontal points of the graph
- Since "The most important variable is the synchronous speed" then it should be the first variable! And it should also be marked with a vertical line / as a dot on the line chart with a tooltip that it's the "inflection" point when the function turns from acceleration to deceleration (or maybe that could just be a tooltip
- "Smooth" should have a visible not that it shouldn't be changed so that it's easy to ignore, and it should be at the bottom (maybe even have a grayish input box to signal that)
- Simlarly, "gamma" should have a short 2nd line
Gamma (speed of change)
- Or even better: drop the word "Gamma" altogether, where is this variable referenced? Why do we need to know it's "gamma"? Or just use a letter
Speed of change (Ξ³)
