Updated Suggested App Versions - X

Question

How do suggested app versions get updated? It seems like it's been quite some time since any apps I use have been updated. I've been on the same version of X/Twitter for 5 months now. This is similar for Reddit and YouTube and Instagram and I haven't found any commjnication lately but maybe were just slowing things down and no commjnicating anymore due to the latest DMCA Spotify announcement. I'm trying to use Grok but I think the app version is just way too outdated.

Anyone can test out the latest version by turning off the version constrain in Manager. If all patches apply correctly and the app works, anyone can open a PR with a version bump.

X/Twitter doesn't get as much attention as other apps, so it doesn't get version bumped often.

Of note, X has added login attestation, so don't log out or uninstall if you're already logged in and the app still works.

This is very helpful to know. I'm currently on the 10.86 suggested version. Now that I know about the login attestation, what's the best rout forward? Keep the patched APK for the 10.86 as a backup in case I run into trouble and just try downloading a much more current apk to patch and update to it? Or is there some guidance somewhere on this kind of strategy? Thank you.

If you uninstall the app, or clear the app data, you will be logged out.

Keeping an old APK doesn't matter.

There is a login work around of resetting the password with 2FA, but it's unknown how long that will continue to work.

I've tried many versions. Most I've tried result in the app force closing when launching after all the patching appears to be successful. The most recent versions have many errors when patching. Do we wait now for it to one day hopefully get worked on or should I ask somewhere for it to have some attention?
