Unable to install patched app built from source (Installation incompatible)

Question

I’m running into an “Installation incompatible” error when installing a patched APK created using a locally built (dev) ReVanced Manager.

What I did

• Built ReVanced Manager from source (dev build)
• Used it to patch a supported app
• Patching completes successfully

On install, Android shows:

Installation incompatible

The app is incompatible with this device. Use an APK that is compatible with this device and try again.

Specifically, could this be caused by:

• ABI / architecture mismatch during build (arm64 vs universal)
• Signing configuration differences in dev builds
• minSdk / targetSdk mismatch introduced during patching
• Something missing in the local build setup

If I’ve missed something obvious or misunderstood part of the setup, apologies in advance.

It's likely abi miss match, aka the APK itself is the issue you're patching not revanced

Universal patches are not guaranteed to work and hence are disabled by default.

But "Hide ads" & "Unlock premium icons" are not a universal patch. And also selecting the "Sanitize sharing links" patch throws an error while modifying the app. Do you know if there is anything I'm missing here?

Oh, Sry. But do you know why the same happens to Reddit, even if the patch is dedicated to the app?
