bug(Instagram): Sharing anything externally does not work

Bug description

Sharing anything externally does nothing when pressed, it just goes straight back to whatever I tried to share.

Used patches:
Disable signature check
Hide ads
Open links externally
Sanitize sharing links

Also tried with just Disable Signature Check

I do not have any other Meta apps installed. So, I do not have Meta Horizon, Facebook, Threads, Edits, Messenger, Facebook Lite, Meta Business Suite, Messenger Kids, Meta AI, Meta Ads Manager, Workplace, Workplace Chat, WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, or Viewpoints. Or any other Meta app out there

Unmodified Instagram external sharing does work

Instagram version: 402.0.0.49.70
Device: Samsung Galaxy S25 (A16) & Poco X6 Pro (A16) & Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) (A15)

Try repatching with only disable signature check, and confirm if it's fixed or not.

It might be the sanitize links patch or the open external links patch.

That didn't help unfortunately. Sharing still does not work with just Disable Signature

Uninstall patched app and install unmodified 402.0.0.49.70, and verify the feature works.

Do you have Facebook or other meta apps installed? If so try uninstalling them then used patched Instagram with only signature patch.

It's possible its trying to use code shared by other meta apps (or it's querying other meta apps), but it fails because the other apps have different signing keys. The different signing keys came up before on a different issue, and the fix was to patch all meta apps so they have the same signing key.

So, it caused by patching. Idk if it is caused by Disable signature patch. If so, maybe it needs to be updated.

I'm having the same issue as described by OP, I found out that enabling the "Disable signature check" patch was breaking the sharing functionality, I enabled all patches except that one and the sharing function was back, the patch needs to be checked and updated.
