Your question

Hello,

I try to display multiple HD videos with alpha channel on Hololens2.
My first guess is to use the HAP codec (HAP with Alpha), as the documention mention HAP as recommended for transparent video.

I see that AVPro 3 doesn't support UWP and Hololens2.

So I downloaded AVPro 2.9.3 Trial.

The HAP alpha videos worked well on Hololens2 with the Unity Editor / Win10 with Holographic Remoting. (with MediaPlayer / Platform Specific : Windows / Video API: Direct Show).

When I tried to build for Hololens 2 (ARM64), (with MediaPlayer / Platform Specific : Windows UWP / Video API: Media Foundation), the planes appear black when playing on device.

Is it a question of settings (Video API to change, building format, special encoding format for HAP?), or HAP is not supported at all in UWP ?

If not supported, what second format would be recommended in term of performances (storage space is not the priority) for video with transparency.
2 MOV H264 or H265, one for alpha channel, one for RGB ?
Or maybe image sequences in DXT5 ? (not sure if AVPro manages image sequences at all?)
Is AVPro 3 the way to go, or should I stick to AVPro2 with H264 for Hololens2 ?

Thanks,
