I’d like to boot it in real hardware from an usb drive. Lets say I want to write a driver so we can have access to the filesystem once the shell is running. What is a good starting point? |

The kernel would need a USB mass storage driver. I haven't looked into the various USB host versions (UHCI, OHCI, EHCI, XHCI) myself but I think the newer ones are reverse compatible with the older ones. This would be useful for accessing a USB drive and also would lead to support for USB keyboards (HID). I think MenuetOS / KolibriOS has USB support and is written in Assembly (x86-32). |
