Updating from much older version to latest #1014

Hi guys, First of all, let me say thank you for this amazing creation. It is magic. A while ago I deployed 1.20.1 (one of the versions that installs to C:\ProgramData) through Intune to my company's devices, along with the ADMX and some associated settings. I am bit confused as to how to safely bring these existing installs up to the latest WAU 2.7.0 with the associated new ADMX and MSI. Is someone able to help point me in the right direction? Thank you so much. |

Hi, The new ADMX files still include the deprecated settings, so you can update your ADMX files first without issues. Next, you can deploy the new MSI; it will automatically handle uninstalling the previous version and installing the new one. Of course, I recommend testing the process on a few machines before rolling it out company-wide. If you’re using Intune, you’ll need to remove the old configuration profiles that use the previous ADMX, delete the old ADMX files, upload the new ADMX, and then recreate your configuration profiles based on the new settings. Hope this helps! 😉 |
