Feature Request: Improved Organization and Autonomy for Orchestrator/Boomerang Mode Subtasks
Summary
As an avid user of rooCode, I greatly appreciate the recent introduction of the orchestrator/boomerang mode. It has made it easier than ever to break down large tasks into smaller, manageable subtasks with better context and more efficient token usage for each subtask. However, one area that still feels lacking is the organization of these subtasks within the task list. Currently, the subtasks occupy valuable space in the task list, which can clutter the interface and hinder efficiency.
All of the above prompts, belong to a single "boomerang" prompt, with subtasks.
This is an example of such creation of subtask in a boomerang task:

Proposal
I recommend implementing a feature that organizes subtasks under a singular folder in the tasks list. This folder would be labeled with the "boomerang" prompt name, and inside the folder, users would find the associated prompt chat as well as all the subtasks generated to complete the job.
This folder-based organization could bring several benefits:
Cleaner Task List: The main task list would remain uncluttered, with only the primary boomerang task visible. This would enhance navigation and usability.
Subtask Grouping: All related subtasks would be grouped under the boomerang prompt, allowing users to easily access the context and chat history for each subtask.
Boilerplate Task Monitoring: The primary boomerang prompt could be designed to monitor the progress of all the subtasks within the folder. It could read through the subtasks and their associated chat logs to check if any task was left incomplete or terminated midway.
Intelligent Task Continuation: If the primary task is incomplete or needs further clarification, the boomerang could automatically generate additional subtasks, thus allowing for better task continuation and completion, even after interruptions.
Benefits
This organization and automation system would provide several advantages, including:
Conclusion
By implementing a folder structure for subtasks in boomerang mode, we can significantly improve the task management experience in rooCode. This feature would help organize the task list, allow the boomerang to monitor progress, and ensure that tasks are completed even if interruptions occur. It would be a powerful step toward enhancing the automation and efficiency of coding workflows.
Thank you for considering this feature request. I look forward to your feedback.
