Customizable Sound Effects

Summary

Add support for customizable sound effects in Roo Code. Currently, sound effects can only be toggled on/off, but users cannot change or upload their own sounds.

Problem

For many users, the default sound effect may be too subtle, too repetitive, or simply not suitable for their workflow. Having the ability to customize notification sounds would improve accessibility, personalization, and overall user experience.

Examples of pain points:

•	Default sound is hard to hear in noisy environments.
•	Users prefer shorter or longer notification tones.
•	Different sounds could help distinguish between different types of events (e.g. task completed vs. error vs. agent approval request).

Proposed Solution

•	Allow users to select from a list of built-in sound themes (short beep, chime, click, etc.).
•	Optionally, allow users to upload a custom audio file (e.g. .wav / .mp3) for notifications.
•	Add a test button in Settings → Notifications to preview sounds.
•	Provide API or config hooks for advanced users to integrate external sounds.

Benefits

•	Improves accessibility for users with hearing differences.
•	Adds personalization and makes the tool feel more “alive.”
•	Helps distinguish between different event categories using distinct audio cues.

Alternatives

•	Relying on system notifications with custom sounds (less integrated).
•	Using external VS Code extensions (not seamless).

Additional Context

Many developer tools (e.g. Slack, VS Code extensions, CI/CD agents) provide configurable notification sounds. Roo Code could adopt a similar approach to increase flexibility.
