Stock prompts. No custom temp.

1. Ask it "return some math formulas in latex"
2. Send it.
3. Got back raw LaTeX text instead of rendered LaTeX.

Just as a test I switched over to Open AI GPT 4.1 and the raw LaTeX does not even show up in the chat (see attached)

I even tried @daniel-lxs prompt of "output some latex math" from PR #4786 No love. Slightly worse actually, not the correct "style" of LaTeX syntax for MD.

If you need any more testing please let me know.

LaTeX rendering in chat isn't currently supported in Roo Code, as Markdown parsing is not implemented due to its complexity. You are wrong. In #4786 it was fixed by @hannesrudolph, tested by @daniel-lxs an actual human being and merged by Mr Ubens in PR #4964 and then released to the Marketplace and is mentioned in the v.3.21.2 release notes and is summarized by the ellipsis-dev bot.

I’ve found that it works if you ask it to write an equation. If you ask it to write latex it does it in a code block.

I confirmed that LaTeX is working in the latest version:

However, I suspect the issue @adamhill is seeing is related to Windows fonts. The LaTeX rendering relies on special fonts that may not be available or properly loaded on Windows, which could prevent LaTeX from rendering entirely.

It would be great if @adamhill could share some logs from the Devtools console, maybe there's a clue that we can use to figure this out.

Edit: I just noticed that the LaTeX is not rendering on Mac, still maybe we can find a clue in the logs.

@daniel-lxs I don't think its a font issue (maybe katex-hype is looking for something other than the Computer Modern fonts for LaTeX, but that would be weird)

I have MacTeX on my main MBP and it renders things fine, same for Overleaf (a web based LaTeX editor) so we know webviews can see / use CM Modern fonts too.

And... (are you really gonna make me do this :-P) I re-installed cline and it renders the LaTeX just fine, with the "return some..." prompt (see attached)
using Claude Sonnet-3.7 & 4.0

So the bug is still pointing at the implementation.
