According to the documentation, list_files is supposed to respect .gitignore rules in recursive mode, skipping ignored directories and files as expected docs.roocode.com/advanced-usage/available-tools/list-files. Since you’re seeing ignored directories show up anyway, this looks like a bug or regression—there aren’t any documented workarounds or known issues about this.

You might want to double-check your .gitignore syntax and placement (especially with nested .gitignore files), but if everything looks correct, try using a .rooignore file as a workaround. Roo Code supports .rooignore with the same syntax as .gitignore, and list_files will respect it for hiding or marking files docs.roocode.com/features/rooignore.

If the problem persists even with .rooignore, it’s likely an issue with the tool itself.
