Hi! I'm here to help out the maintainers and am going to see if I can implement a MySQL MCP server. I'll explore the existing MCP server implementations in the codebase and create a similar one for MySQL. Thanks for the suggestion!

I wrote a simple mysql server with the new fastmcp package a few days ago.

Feel free to grab it if you guys want. Or it can be added to pypi and available via uvx.

The other existing mysql mcp server implementations I came across didn't have support for certificates to be included, which I have as required on my digital ocean instances.
The server code is about 200 lines long.

Thank you for the proposal. We are focusing on mainstream MCPs in the Marketplace to keep support and maintenance predictable. Since the initial request there has not been community support or traction. We are not planning to take this on now, so I am closing this to keep the tracker focused.
