[BUG] Lack of important checkpoints

Problem (one or two sentences)

There should be checkpoints created at the start of the task and on the attempt_completion tool used, the current version makes it impossible to fully revert IF we made only 1 edit, and to restore easily to the actual task completion and start would be a lot better in addition to only file changes, and at the mode switching

Context (who is affected and when)

Everyonee, when the model made only 1 edit or made multiple reprompts, reverting would be almost impossible

Reproduction steps

1. Start a task which the model completes in one edit
2. There would be no revert button to revert back, since even the prior checkpoint saved says "(Current)" although completely false with one edit

OR

1. Do a task and let it finish
2. Reprompt the model in the same instance
3. There would be no easy way to find checkpoint done at the last completion

Working easy checkpoints

Actual result

No checkpointsss 😭

I'm exploring a potential fix for the checkpoint creation issue. I'll work on ensuring checkpoints are properly created at task start, on attempt_completion, and during mode switches to make reverting changes easier. Will open a PR to share progress.

I've opened PR #8460 to address this issue: #8460

The implementation adds checkpoints at the three critical points you mentioned:

• ✅ At task start - allows reverting to the beginning
• ✅ On attempt_completion - marks the task completion state
• ✅ On mode switching - preserves state before mode changes

All checkpoints use the suppressMessage flag to keep the timeline clean as requested. The changes have been tested and all existing tests pass. CI checks are currently running on the PR.
