I understand the intent behind the rule, but I don’t think emojis should carry important meaning. They’re too subjective. If clarity is the goal, a short text reply is more effective than relying on reactions |

Using emojis in Teams chat makes communication way more efficient! I love using 👀 and ✅ to show the progress of the task I'm working on. It also keeps the Teams chat cleaner as this removes a lot of noisy messages e.g. "working on it" or "done" |

I really like emojis; they’re a quick and easy way to respond. |

Text and emojis can definitely carry meaning, but instant messages are often meant to be quick — which nudges the other person to reply just as briefly. The problem is: does a short reply like “👍” or “understood” actually mean the same thing to both people? I’ve seen plenty of short messages get misread (or land the wrong way). This rule is a good reminder to stay clear and explicit even in chat — especially when you’re confirming you’ve understood something. 🙂 |

Use 👀 and ✅ reactions in team chats to clearly show when a message is being actioned and when it’s done, avoiding confusion and improving team communication.
