Description
I ran BinaryObjectScanner (1st as part of MPF, later using the latest release version in this repo) against a BD movie and it didn't detect the presence of AACS. It said there is no protection present.
I've seen #291 so I assume AACS support should currently be implemented but is not working for me for some reason.
My hunch: Form the screenshot in there (without having looked at the code base) I think the issue may be the same confusing I also had between AACS and BEE. As the 1st bit in the 2nd byte in that screenshot is set to 1 this would indicate that BEE (bus encryption) is present. Where as for the blu-ray I've here it is 0 (meaning bus encryption is disabled). But nonetheless even though it doesn't use the bus encryption this movie still has AACS and when one just creates an ISO of it it'll fail to play.
One has to also backup the AACS keys using the FindVUK tool in order to make it work.
Tl;Dr: I suspect AACS currently to only be detected if BEE is enabled (no such BD here right now to validate though). What I know for certain is that it is not detected for this BD I've here right now that has the BEE bit set to 0.
I think you'll need these information from the FindVUK tool (let me know if you need more):
