SEB 3.10.x flagged as malicious by antivirus (SentinelOne / AVG) causing network disruption

We observed that three users running SEB 3.10.x experienced antivirus detections that blocked SEB and caused network disruption. The severity varied per device.

SEB version: 3.10.0.826
OS: Windows 11 Pro (OS build 26100.7171)
Antivirus: SentinelOne 25.1.3.334
Issue: SEB flagged as a threat. Internet connection temporarily cut off for a few minutes, then restored automatically
Required IT intervention afterward

SEB version: 3.10.0.826
OS / Antivirus: details pending
Issue: SEB detected as a threat. Network completely disabled and did not recover automatically

User 3 (My system)
SEB version: 3.10.1.864
OS: Windows 11
Antivirus: AVG 25.11.10580a (build 25.11.10580.960)
Issue: SEB flagged as a threat. Able to complete the exam but experienced noticeable lag while submitting. No network loss

Summary

All three users experienced antivirus detections when using SEB 3.10.x.
Network impact varied significantly between devices:
temporary network interruption → full network shutdown → no interruption.
The client previously used SEB 3.8 without any issues.

I'm living the same problem.

If your students were using the official releases resp. setups built and singed by ourselves (the checksums for verification are available on all our download mirrors), then these are clearly false-positive detections by the anti-virus software mentioned above.

Please feel free to report them to the respective manufacturers, most anti-virus software has usually a reporting functionality integrated where this can be done quite easily and for a particular false-positive detection.
