Compressing a File

Hi, I'm so sorry if I'm misunderstanding what the purpose of LibDeflate is, but is it possible to compress a file/folder with this? I'm looking to first create a file with a script and then place it in folders that get zipped so I can change the .zip extension. Would this be able to zip the folder I made? Again, so sorry if I'm not understanding the proper use case for this.
