Use kind_icons from mini.icons icon provider

So this is how I setup up blink.cmp to use lsp kind_icons from mini.icons to make the completion menu look

Here is the configuration:

draw = {

                local kind_icon, _, _ = require('mini.icons').get('lsp', ctx.kind)
                return kind_icon
            end,
...

If you also would like to use hl_groups from mini.icons, add the uncommented part in the highlight option:

                -- require("blink.cmp.completion.windows.render.tailwind").get_hl(ctx)

                -- ) .. ctx.kind
                local _, hl, _ = require('mini.icons').get('lsp', ctx.kind)

Note

Be Sure to also configure the highlight options for the kind field too, so the colors get synchronized with kind_icon.

You can also do something similar to above, if you want to use kind_icons from nvim-web-devicons.

I did not quite understand that? Do you want to use kind_icons from lspkind or you want to add the Copilot kind_icon to Mini.icons?

I actually don't use copilot anymore, just supermaven, but figured the setup should be the same. I'm using lspkind with nvim-cmp so I figured I'd start with that, but maybe just using your mini.icons setup would fix things.

Okay, just make sure, your plugin spec for mini.icons looks like this:

		require("mini.icons").mock_nvim_web_devicons()

                            supermaven = { glyph = '', hl = 'your_hl_group'  }
                }

Make sure to replace supermaven with the AI kind name that blink returns.
Then just replicate my config above and things should look fine ;-)

I did this in blink.lua config: but still i'm not getting right kind icon for supermaven suggestion. it's use text kind for supermaven suggestions.

hey @the-fuckin-nobody, im having some problems with mini.icons general colors and as it seems we cannot pass custom colors like #ffffff or orange to text = { glyph = "", hl = "MiniIconsAzure" }, in mini.icons's config,

and i want to use custom colors, i came up with this:

local lsp_icons = require("NeutronVim.plugins.configs.icons").lsp
local hl = (lsp_icons[kind] and lsp_icons[kind].hl) or select(2, require('mini.icons').get('lsp', kind))

which doesnt works ofc, afaik, the it becomes like lsp_icons["kind"] instead of lsp_icons["snippet"] or whatever and returns nil and the require('mini.icons').get('lsp', kind) is used, the problem here is that if i use #<hex> then mini.icons returns an error and it doesnt wanna load, but if i use orange or red or something, it doesnt throw any error but my blink.cmp also doesnt look good, ig @Saghen the highlight is not using named colors and hex colors, but only named groups like pmenusel or maybe blinkcmpborder?
