Move developer chat to Matplotlib Discourse?

Matplotlib is moving its various chat rooms from Gitter to its Discourse instance, thanks to a newish Discourse plugin. E.g.

We can also make a Cartopy chat channel there. I favour doing that, because once Matplotlib moves I will not have a reason other than Cartopy to look at Gitter. Since it’s so quiet in there, I don’t think I see myself keeping up that habit to pick up the occasional message.

Any thoughts?

No, I can't think of any. SciTools repositories have freely adopted tools in the past without issue (e.g. ReadtheDocs).

I am in favor of this. I haven't used gitter in years, and don't follow discoure very much, so I'd say if this would be helpful for you @rcomer, then we should definitely do it!
