On Windows, the gcc toolchain is distributed by third parties.
The Scoop community has decided to use the Nuwen MinGW Distribution as the
gccpackage.I'm sure it's a good choice, but I was wondering if the rationale for this decision is documented somewhere.
(btw, why is this distribution stuck to
13and not14?)Also, I think it would be valuable to be explicit about this decision:
scoop info gccwon't tell you about it.λ scoop info gcc Name : gcc Description : GNU Compiler Collection and binutils Version : 13.2.0 Bucket : main Website : https://www.gnu.org/software/gcc License : GPL-3.0-or-later Updated at : 2024-01-14 19:32:34 Updated by : github-actions[bot] Environment : CPLUS_INCLUDE_PATH = <root>\include C_INCLUDE_PATH = <root>\include Path Added : <root>\binWhat do you all think?
