Is the latest extension version expired?

I'm going through the getting started article. After installing the latest version of the extension, I'm not able to open an index in VSCode because I keep getting the following error:

This FireDBG version has expired, please update to the latest version.

Is the extension still maintained? I can't find the repo of the extension. It's a great and promising debugging tool, but setting it up is a bit frustrating, as I had to revert to an older Rust version, and the extension doesn't seem to work properly.

But I might also be missing something.
