It looks like nothing was actually wrong even though the installer produced an error. I restarted the server, waited for all of the containers to start, then ran so-allow. I'm at least able to log in and navigate around now. |

I am trying to install security onion over Ubuntu 20 and have been having issues. I was finally able to get the installer to quit complaining about the network setup and run through. It goes for almost an hour and fails at the end. It gives instructions to check /root/errors.log and /root/sosetup.log. When I cat the errors file it is completely blank. The sosetup.log file has 60597 lines and I can't figure out where it ran into an error.
System Details:
Dell PE1950 running Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS
Dual Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5160 @ 3.00GHz (quad core)
64GB RAM
Using onboard NICs (had issues with pcie NIC)
Here are the last few lines of the sosetup.log file:
A quick line count of sosetup.log and error.log
I'll paste the full sosetup.log file if it will help. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
