Has anyone ever applied a self-signed SSL certificate or wildcard certificate to SO 2.4.190 running on Oracle Linux 9 so that the Web UI is secure? #15238

Security Onion already uses a self signed cert for web access, if you need to replace it the instructions are at https://docs.securityonion.net/en/2.4/nginx.html#replacing-default-cert |

Detail
I've researched the steps on how to apply an SSL certificate to secure the Web UI, but most instructions that I've found on the Internet, including ChatGPT, caused NGINX to fail or go missing when SO-STATUS is initiated on the CLI. Is there a simpler way to generate a self-signed certificate and apply to SO 2.4.190 to security the Web UI?
