The transceiver chip used on this CAN BUS expansion board is the SN65HVD230. According to its datasheet, this component operates at 3.3V. Not all boards in the XIAO series run at 3.3V—for example, the RA4M1 operates at 5V. Is this expansion board still compatible with such 5V boards? If not, will there be a 5V-compatible version available, perhaps using a chip like the TLE9371VSJ? For hardware design purposes, it would be useful to know which pins on the CAN BUS expansion board remain free and which ones are reserved for CAN communication. It would also be helpful if the board included a DC-DC converter, so it could be powered directly from higher supply voltages—especially in automotive applications. Additionally, having an extra I2C Grove connector on the board would be a great feature. |
