The dtoverlay=i2s-mmap has not been needed or exists from approx kernel ver 4.0+
So as usual not much confidence...

Thank you for your feedback. You’re absolutely right — dtoverlay=i2s-mmap is no longer required for kernel versions 4.0 and above. We’ll update and improve our documentation as soon as possible to reflect this.

There is another thing with the AGC the actual settings don't seem to make much difference in ramp up time and currently the delay seems far too fast. I think on the chip it uses a multiplier register for the same setpoints and guess this must be wrong.
Even when setting input gain to 0db its near peaking, but also far too quickly.
