I am following the steps in “Configure platformio.ini for XIAO nRF54L15 Zephyr Support,” but after overwriting platformio.ini, the download and environment setup that starts afterwards stops with the following error.

Loading Zephyr default modules (Zephyr base).
No board named ‘xiao_nrf54l15’ found.
Please choose one of the following boards:
CMake Error at C:/Users/msfujino/.platformio/packages/framework-zephyr/cmake/modules/boards.cmake:228 (message):
Invalid BOARD; see above.

Even after deleting all related files and performing a clean installation, the situation remains unchanged.
Is there any solution to this issue?

I was able to run several samples using the PlatformIO IDE.
Key points:

Before installing the PlatformIO IDE extension, copy the sample folder to a suitable location.
Install the PlatformIO IDE extension.
For example, go to Menu Bar > File > Open Folder → zephyr-blink
Click the “->” icon in the bottom left to build and upload
Important: If you encounter errors,
place the project in a location not protected by Windows security, or configure settings to allow access to protected folders.

I'm having trouble getting started with PoatformIO to run Blinky on nRF54L15. Zephyr can't find the board.

I have posted a solution here.

but meat of the fix is the file seeed-xiao-nrf54l15.json is missing the variant label, it should read as shown below:

Corrected definition:

 "mcu": "nRF54L15",
        "variant": "SEEED_XIAO_NRF54L15",
      "zephyr": {

the original file:

"mcu": "nRF54L15",
      "zephyr": {

Cause of the Problem

Abnormal compilation caused by an issue with the cmake path.

Solution

1. Modify the cmake file
   Copy the following code into the cmake file and save it by pressing Ctrl+S:

   set(BOARD_ROOT "$ENV{ZEPHYR_BASE}/../../platforms/Seeed Studio/zephyr")
   cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.13.1)
   find_package(Zephyr REQUIRED HINTS $ENV{ZEPHYR_BASE})
   project(blinky)
   target_sources(app PRIVATE ../src/main.cpp)

   If the main file in the src folder is main.c, change "main.cpp" in the last line of the above code to "main.c".

2. Modify the pio.ini file
   Make a minor modification to the pio.ini file (e.g., add a comment) to ensure the file has changes, then save it by pressing Ctrl+S.

3. Wait for initialization and compile
   Wait for pio initialization to complete (i.e., the rotating clock icon disappears).
   Recompile, and it will work!

\platform-seeedboards\zephyr\boards\arm\xiao_nrf54l15
To this folder:
.platformio\packages\framework-zephyr\boards\seeed\xiao_nrf54l15
also make my other change to have it find the board defs. to add the variant name.
sorry i forgot to include this before.

it took me an hour and a half to get it right.

I demonstrate making it fail to find the board, and then find the board in the last 5 minutes of the vid so skip to there...

Ok, I succesfully built the blinky code with this method.

For future reference, on linux, platformIO didn't detect the board for upload (but the board appeared in "devices" menu). I got it working adding a udev rules like so : https://forum.arduino.cc/t/cannot-upload-to-xiao-mg24-on-linux-mint/1365765/3

@bleaaach : thx for your answer. But now I'm kind of stuck.
I cannot upload anymore (even with the old config). And I always get a 'Error: Failed to read memory at 0xe000ed00'.
Do you have any clue or tutorial to "unbrick it" but I don't think it really is.
