[🐛 Bug]: driver.swith_to.alert is not working against Chrome System pop message

What happened?

I am getting a chrome system error that is showing me the following pop up message:

When trying to access driver.switch_to.alert I get an exception NoAlertPresentException: Message: no such alert

I cannot share steps to repdocuce since that the web site is in our internal network at the office.

How can we reproduce the issue?

That is not a web pop-up but a system pop-up from the browser. Selenium WebDriver can only interact with pop-ups from the website.

You need to check the extension's permissions and configure the browser by setting preferences or a profile.

can detail more about the extension's permissions? And then what? Should I still dismiss it with the Selenium driver?

You should check the extension's documentation and understand what permissions are needed. With that, add the required browser preferences when building the ChromeDriver object.

If the browser permissions are already configured, the pop-up should not show up.

No, your goal is to setup the browser preferences/profile such that your extension has everything it needs. It therefore won't pop up asking you for stuff. Therefore you won't have to confirm it and you can run your tests
