RFE: Ignore HIDDEN categories in hierarchy

Setup and configuration

• MediaWiki: 1.31.0
• SMW: 2.5.8
• SBL: 1.5.0

Problem

If some category page has a hidden category as one of its parents, the extension currently always assigns this hidden-category as its parent, and ignores the order of all other regular parent-categories.

Enhancement

When considering the parent (and children?) hierarchy for Category pages, it would be better if it skipped hidden categories (those with the __HIDDENCAT__ magic word).

Even better if there is configuration option eg. $egSBLHiddenCategoriesTreatment with these bitfield choices:

• IGNORE
• FALLBACK: only consider them if no other category found
• LIKE_REGULAR: consider like regular categories (usually become parents)
