best way to integrate ALS_CPP

Hi,
First off: great initiative!
I have integrated ALSC and managed to use it with my iClone characters using the different YT howto's.
Now I am wondering what would be the best way to start coding using ALSC.
Do I create new classes that inherit form ALSBaseCharacter etc? This way future updates of ALSC are easier.
Or do I simply modify all the ALSC classes to my liking?

What do you propose?
