Weapon offset after character retarget

So I made a video on retargeting this and setting everything up but there is still quite a bit I don't know about Animation Blueprints. My weapons and other things are offset from my players hand and I'm not completely sure how to fix it. I've tried some traditional methods such as sockets, Fabrik and such but using those methods only seem to work when he's holding the rifle in the resting positions, when I start aiming with it his offhand even though it's supposed to be locked to a socket is floating around as though it weren't. I have a feeling it may have something to do with the updating of the hands while aiming and how that's handled. If anyone could point me in the general direction as to what I'm doing wrong or the correct way to fix it I would appreciate it. My video is here https://youtu.be/0-53uRGM3wE
