question about detai in search_continuous of mcts

Thanks again for the greate job , i noticed var "self.current_num_top_actions" in mcts, and the "self.current_num_top_actions" vary like 16 --> 8 --> 4 as i running the data worker, what is "self.current_num_top_actions" used for and did i miss some theory about mcts? because i got lots of confusion about it . sincerely appreciate
