click splash screen one or more times while starting

Since this is a clone of the Verge wallet it has inherited one of its bugs. You can click wait and it will start up, end will obviously kill it. I think the code is lacking interrupts to "come up for air" while it's indexing and will seem like it's frozen.

Also, why full-screen? Borderless window maybe.

A workaround for now is to turn the splash screen off by editing SHIELD.conf in the data (or program) directory to add "splash=0". It will start in the notification tray and remain frozen for about 5 minutes while the blocks are indexing then open after its done.

Yep. Another way is to minimise it directly, with the latest version.

This is for a pretty old version, newest is minimizable (and not full screen) as @zakurai said
