What components to use for the CI/CD?

We need to discuss about the elements to include within the CI.
Following the instructions given within the assignment, pre-commit hooks have been already added to format the code properly.

We also noted in our first call that we should:

• use codecov with HUnit to get coverage metrics report
• find what the release automation is about
• check the project with hlint
• ensure all executables to build properly

Based on the activity of HUnit, i think we need to investigate whether HSpec is compatible with codecov.

HUnit did, indeed, not received any relevant commits in the past 3 years, and do no longer seems active upstream.

I also tried to look into codecov-haskell but this package seems to be broken as it does not compile successfully (it was last checked to be working on GHC 7.10)

The assignment also mention to test the project within pre-commit itself, but including this in the CI might not be a bad idea as a safety net.

We could run cabal outdated somewhere in the pipeline (pre-commit or only for PRs) to check the dependencies, since Dependabot doesn't support Haskell (dependabot/dependabot-core#2745) yet.

Additionally:

Updates in Haskell libraries relatively often involve breaking changes. Thus, the main task of Cabal & Stack is not to just provide the latest version of them, but to provide a stable version of all your dependencies that are known to work well together.
