Cannot add Data Connections

Hi,

yesterday I install SignalK Server on WSL2 (Windows 11 Subsystem for Linux).

I got the server build and running with demo data but cannot add a new "Data Connection" via Web Interface.
The message Something went wrong appears, nothing to see in the server log files.

I have a Debain Distro "Bookworm", installed npm via nvm via
curl -o- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nvm-sh/nvm/v0.40.3/install.sh | bash

node -v && npm -v
v24.4.1
11.4.2

NMEA 0183 plugin is installed.

Any ideas?

Node v24 is not officially supported.

But I think this might be a browser issue. Try a different browser and if using Chrome, make sure it is the latest.

It does not work with newest Chrome nor newest Edge.

Downgraded node but did not help:

node -v && npm -v
v22.17.1
10.9.2

I switched to the signalk-server tag v2.14.4

Now it works!

There must be an issue in the HEAD

There is a Windows installer, don't think there's any reason to be building it yourself?

I wanted to test with Linux for later use on a Raspi.
At the moment I have only WSL on Windows. The Debian dist. with bookworm had outdated node/npm versions, therefore could not install signalk-server, so I installed node via nvm and then followed the instructions at https://demo.signalk.org/documentation/Installation.html#install-using-git
