Contact deletion and replication #1075

607 contacts.
Recent deletion of multiple contacts not initiated by user. Deleted contacts vary by date added from years to days.
All user defined groups disappeared. All contacts in Favorites category deleted without user action.
Recent inflation of file size from ~800Kb to 2.3MB on backup. Loading of contact database takes several seconds as opposed to near instantaneous prior to file size inflation.
Individual contacts have multiple instances of "Verizon Wireless" and/or " Phone Storage (not visible by other apps) " showing in edit screen.
I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times with no apparent change for the better.
I made an effort to read rules for posting but not being conversant in many of the terms used, it is likely I violated one or more out of ignorance.
