When forks should be spawned, I would like more insights into how many is actually spawned and how many failed. I suggest the following metrics:

• increment when fork spawns successfully
• increment when fork spawn failed
• gauge the rate for this (i.e. totally successful / number of forks)

This will allow me as a user to setup monitors on this.
