Please I have this problem when i run the analysis

This window does not show the trace of the SST python error... hard to know where the error occurred or why...

I believe this is because the Windows builds of QGIS now include Python 3.12 and Python 3.12 is stricter about 'implicit' conversion of floats to ints. There are various functions in the code that receive floats but treat them as ints, this used to work silently in Python 3.9, but Python 3.12 complains.

One solution seems to be to wrap arguments in int() to explicitly convert them to integers before they are passed into the functions.

A temporary workaround is to downgrade QGIS to a version that was built with Python 3.9 however a complication is that the Python version isn't linked to the QGIS version (qgis/QGIS#54491). The version of Python included in QGIS depends on who packaged it, so at the moment the Windows version of QGIS 3.40 includes Python 3.12 while the Mac version includes Python 3.9.

The thread in that issue seems to say that the last Windows version of QGIS with Python 3.9 is QGIS 3.34.5 but again, it will depend exactly on where you are installing QGIS from (e.g. OSGeo4W, conda or standalone installer).

Thank you so much @n-bristow for the detailed explanation of the error, and for a possible hack by downgrading QGIS.

This looks like a serious issue that must be fixed to keep the tool working going forward.

The challenge remains to know which functions expect ints so that we wrap the input in int(). Maybe my IDE can help identify these issues.
If someone has a simpler solution to fix this I'm all ears!
