Don't. Please, don't even bother F-Droid devs. It's not like I'm not in favour of independent building from source and checks, or hate F-Droid in some way (in fact, F-Droid's main place where I get apps for Android myself and I find great it lists actual non-free stuff). But F-Droid's ain't for desktop (that would be big news for me if it would.) So don't even bother to create requests on that topic. There are plenty more of software that should get F-Droid's approval. For those who want F-Droid-like antifearure list, sure, WebCord has these even tho I fight against them. But I can't surely eliminate the fact it is Discord client, and it uses Electron -> Chromium that might be linked upon non-free FFMPEG (I'm not sure about that one tho, and there might be ways to tinker with that in some way as well). About Tracking, not sure if opt-out third-party whitelist counts as that, DevTools kinda tells Discord use these quite reasonably the last time I checked it (might re-check it soon), but again, it's better to set these to limit the scope of non-free net you use and possibility Discord sends some nasty data dirrectly over the client after an update. At least there's no process tracking, and IPC (RPC) impl is rather independent from the client and doesn't try to use any data from your account at all (I might need tho to make it configurable which identity it uses in the future as a library/module API, but I also plan some major rewrites on the structure of classes and their purpose). |

Hello everyone 👋,
I’ve been using WebCord as a privacy-focused alternative Discord client and find it excellent. I believe adding it to F-Droid would greatly benefit the free software community.
Thank you for your work in supporting free software! 🙏
