How to export file with checkboxes in some cells in 3.1?

I'm trying to change the value of two cells in an existing Excel template(template.xlsx) in version 3.1.
The template.xlsx file has a column with checkboxes for the gender that I don't modify.
I would like to load the file (template.xlsx), change the value of the cells and export the file updated.
I used some ideas from #1963 and they worked (the cells values are updated) but in the new file the checkboxes don't show anymore.
Could anyone help me, please?
Does anyone have any ideas how I should approach the problem?
