light/dark mode toggle hidden by inline styling

I noticed that the checkbox for the light/dark theme toggle is hidden do to in line css display = none. This means that know one can toggle the theme appearance. I am unsure if this was intended or not, but I figured in case it wasn't, I should bring it to attentian
