QRZ Welcome/Hello Issues

Hey all been testing this feature without any luck.
I have it activated:

2025-02-05 17:33:01,451 | DEBUG | System: QRZ Welcome/Hello Enabled

Here is my config:

[qrz]
enabled = True
qrz_db = data/qrz.db
qrz_hello_string = " BOT send CMD or DM me for more info."

training = False

I reset radio NodeDB as well, and can verify new nodes have been in the area. Also I am not seeing the database file data/qrz.db, does it need to be created?

Sorry wasn't sure if I should post this here or under issues.

I just noticed this it looks like it worked not sure about the error though:
2025-02-05 18:57:13,123 | ERROR | QRZ database table not found, created new table
2025-02-05 18:57:14,331 | INFO | Device:1 Sending DM: Hello {'xxxx'} " BOT send CMD or DM me for more info." To: Meshtastic xxxx

That error is not well used, I just pushed a fix to change to a Warning.

Are things working now?

Ok thank you, I am not seeing the data/qrz.db file which I thought was odd. Does it persistent between runs or only for current session? I am not sure I understand the logic with QRZ, when does it exactly send the hello, its looking like it does it after it sees a new node message in channel 0 for me.

The database should be there yes.

Also yes it detects/responds to text messages. Assuming it's likely a human in some way.

I did throw this bit in quickly, I haven't admittedly used it yet my mesh is way too big. And my dev network is way too small haha 😆

I just checked and the database is there now! It looks like the first time it was triggered was today and it did create it which is when the above error was generated. Thank you for adjusting to warning. All set, it appears to be working as expected.

I tried rm qzr.db but it never recreated it, so I ,copied original from backup
All other services seem ok
Not in test mode and enable module
Any other ideas?

I just tested it all in a lab and it's working well. Did find a minor issues I cleaned up. Unrelated here.

How big is your mesh? How far apart are the nodes you test with?

It should be making a new DB when it gets info packet from a node

Ok, I figured it out, not being a Linux guy, I had carriage return in my message in the config file, moved it to one line and it's working now.

"Join the Cumberland Valley Meshtastic Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/399007113176574"

Needed to be all on one line
