• all code should be tested using testthat, when being reviewed by an ERG or other body.
• Your suggestions are good but I would add some simple unit tests which run a deterministic model with pessimistic/optimistic assumptions around each parameter and ensure that the results change in the correct direction.

Again --- all good points. But to allow ERGs to test packages, we'd need to work to make the standard recognised (and possibly allow modellers to have templates and helpers to do so!)...
