Description
Scenario: Building a mine using dirt slopes down into the mine. You remove the expected amount of space required plus a bit of extra space, and drive a vehicle into the mine.
The vehicle (tried with both steam tractor and steam truck) seems to collide with objects in unexpected ways, as if the collider is larger than the vehicle.
Additionally, when mine blocks around the vehicle that it is clearly not colliding with (3+ blocks away from the vehicle) it seems to recalculate collisions and attempt to reset the position of the vehicle, often clipping it into the ceiling. This leads to a lot of problems digging the vehicle out of the ceiling and some odd physics happening while you are doing so, often changing the position and orientation of the vehicle.
Even worse, using the hammer to reposition the vehicle has additional issues. You cant place vehicles on ramps because they're either detected as the front of the vehicle colliding with the ramp or "in the air" where you can't place vehicles.
Even worse the vehicle appears to detect collisions with the vehicles current position when you are attempting to reposition it with the hammer. You can't simply rotate a vehicle in place or move it over a block because it collides with itself.
The only current working solution to this problem is park the truck far away from where you're working to prevent the physics from freaking out, and if you trigger the problems described above either through bad driving, or the physics problems, the in-game solutions do not work due to the limitations described above.
The only working solution I could come up with is completely emptying the vehicle by taking many trips out of the mine, then picking the truck up, and placing it again outside of the mine.
