Place the aperturevr_assets folder into Portal 2: Community Edition/p2ce/custom to install! (Only necessary when using the non-workshop version).

Contains 40+ faithfully enhanced/remade 2K-4K PBR materials from the Half-Life: Alyx addon: "ApertureVR: Thinking Without Portals". (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2542185100)

Each material has been ported into P2:CE from Source 2, and touched-up to be more faithful to the originals.

NOTE: These assets have been uploaded with permission from the ApertureVR team.

HAMMER USAGE:

The materials can be located inside hammer by filtering for aperturevr or pbr.

Contained within this upload is a map + vmf showcasing all the new materials. It can be accessed from the console with the command map pbrassettest.

Known issue: A lot of the white wall/floor materials appear really bright inside Hammer. This is a bug with P2:CE which I cannot fix. As a result of this, it can be hard to align the materials in some cases. To work around this, I recommend using the non-PBR versions first and then replacing them afterwards with the PBR versions.

just realised i forgot to remove the %noportal flags from the white surfaces, should be fixed in approx 8-10 hours (once I wake up haha)

in the meantime, you can fix it yourself pretty easily by removing it from the .vmts yourself
